What does this mean? A common consensus on this is that it is deceptive and does not truly achieve the x resolution. I'm writing this up as an amalgamation of everything I've learned through my time with the GS63VR, it's likely this information will work for other models as well, but I cannot confirm that to any extent.

As to drivers, here is what I have tried so far: I updated to windows 10 over the Christmas period and the Black screen started almost immediatelly Firstly I updated all drivers to the latest versions to see if that stopped it - seemed OK for a few days, then Black screen returned. Used the back-out option on Windows 10 update to go back to Windows 8.

So disabled Javascript - seemed OK for a On one of these forums I think someone said they had found a lose metal connector inside the laptop case when opened that when snapped back into place would fix the issue, opened case up and had a look inside.

No lose wires, connectors etc, so no change to problem.
