I've found what seems like a good deal; a used Cintiq 21UX I can return it, but longer term the 21ux is not covered for repairs by Wacom. Hey everybody. I am considering upgrading to a Wacom Cintiq 21UX but I just wanted to put it out there and see if anybody else is currently. Wacom's 21" Cintiq 21UX touch screen monitor promised to make my dream a reality. But as often happens, things didn't turn out as smoothly.

The control panel for Wacom Cintiq 21UX Cintiq even allows you to configure the buttons for specific applications--so you might have one set of controls for Photoshop and a different set for Corel Painter, for example. The Cintiq's brightness, contrast and other controls reside in an awkward position on the top of the monitor, which makes it difficult to adjust while you're sitting down.
Perhaps the engineers at Wacom considered this when they put Braille-like Wacom Cintiq 21UX on the controls so that you could feel your way around them.

As for "how awesome is it to draw on the actual screen", it is actually pretty damn awesome, even with my lousy non-accurate stubby Wacom Intuos and a not very fit iPad 4 Wacom Cintiq 21UX.
But I beg to Wacom Cintiq 21UX and say save for the Cintiq! It really does save money when you don't buy the other models and does save you time by not forcing you to get used to drawing on an active area while looking at the screen.
Wacom Cintiq 21UX The only problem I have with it is that it heats up since it is an interactive monitor. Other than that, you Wacom Cintiq 21UX get used to it. The customizable express keys are a great asset whether I am drawing or not and make great shortcuts for tool access and programs.
